The King Fahd Causeway is a series of bridges that connect Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. The idea of constructing the causeway was based on improving the links and bonds between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Since its opening in 1986 during the time of King Fahad bin Abdul Aziz bin Saud, it became a solid point of attraction in Saudi Arabia and specifically of the eastern region.
Visitors are prohibited to stop on the bridge which is always monitored by camera. From the land to the Saudi-Bahrain border in the middle of two nations, the bridges and causeways has a length of 11km and another 11km to reach the land of Bahrain.
